Using PSPP on a Live CD

This file contains a copy of PSPP. By burning the file to a CD in ISO 9660 format, you can run PSPP without installing it on your own computer.

If you do not know how to burn a CD image, see an online tutorial, or the manual page for 'cdrecord'.

To use it, download the file and burn it to a CD. The CD will then contain a complete distribution of the GNU/Linux operating system called Knoppix. You can run this operating system instead of the one already on your machine. Just put the CD in the tray of your computer and reboot. You may need to tell the computer to boot from the CD. How to do this depends on your machine. For example, some machines allow you change the boot order by pressing the 'F12' key as soon as you turn on the computer.

After the operating system boots, you can run PSPP by selecting the 'terminal' button in the lower left-hand corner of the screen. The button will open a command-line window, in which you can start PSPP by typing 'psppire'.
